Annual Shrimp Boil
Our members wait all-year-long for this mouthwatering event. Nothing is better than spending the afternoon with friends and enjoying a wonderful meal.
Safe Boating Classes
This is our way to make sure NC and SC boaters have the education they need to meet legislated education requirements as well as put more educated boaters on our waters. Sign up!!
Predictive Log Competition
Think "road rally on the water." Receive directions on an assigned course, plot how you will navigate it, turn in your predictions, run the course, and see how you do.
This is a fun event that brings together the Charlotte and Catawba squadrons. You compete against yourself and boaters from the two Squadrons.
Vessel Safety Checks
Working with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, we perform free Vessel Safety Checks at various locations throughout the boating season. You can bring your boat to River Hills Marina {Pier 88} or we can meet you at your dock. Our certified examiners will help make sure you boat safe. Sign up!!
Monthly Meetings
We hold membership monthly meetings. They are a chance to see your friends and have a great meal. We have guest speakers at many of our meetings that have included; The Catawba Nation, Catawba River Keepers, a NCIS agent, and County Council members.
Children's Outings and Holiday Party
Catawba participates in three Children's event. In the spring we co-host a Children's Outing at the Red Fez Club with the Charlotte Squadron. Our fall event is a Children's Outing at Camp Thunderbird. And, in December we host a Holiday Event complete with Santa Claus at Camp Thunderbird. These are days of fun and laughter where the children forget their problems and boat, swim, fish, and try their hand at archery. We make sure they're well fed with a breakfast and BBQ lunch. Paddleboard Races
Safety is an important part of what we do. Our members provide safety boats for The Goat Boater paddle-board races and the Rotary Club's Paddle for the Cure.
Pool Parties, Chili Cook-Offs & BBQs
We like being on the lake and members host events at their lake houses. Fun events include Pool Parties, Chili Cook-Offs, and BBQs..
Lake Cleanup
We partner with Catawba River Keepers to clean the lake and shorelines to preserve the safety and beauty of our waterways.
